Newborn R was exactly a week old for his newborn portrait session at his home in St. Louis. He was so laid back and peaceful! Lucky parents. His big sister is so sweet with her lil’ brother and loved giving him kisses and hugs. I know these two will be the best of friends as they grow up together. Congrats again on your growing family. Early summer is so pretty in St. Louis and makes for beautiful backdrops for family portraits! This family was just too adorable and fun to photograph. I adore this lil’ princess’ curls! I’m sure she gets away with all kinds of things with those ringlets! I adore all the colors that Spring and early Summer gives us here in St. Louis! Gives us such pretty backdrops. This lil’ beauty was celebrating her first birthday and I had the privilege to capture portraits of this special milestone at a local park in Clayton, MO. Since one  year olds are on the go, we set up a couple of set-ups for her to keep her entertained and happy during her session. Her outfit coordinated perfectly with the location and the balloons that we chose. And of course, what little girl doesn’t like a tea party! So touching and special to have the parents involved too! I can’t get over how fast babies grow. Seems like just yesterday that I captured her mom’s maternity portraits and then Miss S’s newborn portraits. Such a delightful family and little princess.

I have been looking for a field with wildflowers over the last few weeks, but due to the cooler temperatures we’ve had lately, things are blooming a bit later this year. I drove past this area less than a week ago in Florissant, MO and there weren’t any flowers. Two days ago I drove by this field again and was surprised to see these beautiful purple flowers. Amazing how quickly things sprout up! I knew that I wanted to capture the pretty pastels for this lil’ beauty’s customized portrait session as it was so fitting for her backdrop. The purple and white flowers work so well with the garland that I made for this vintage bassinet as well as the outfit that my client borrowed from me. It all worked out just beautifully. Miss “I” looks just like a porcelain doll and loved singing with her mom and me. Such a happy lil’ lady.

What a sweet  newborn boy I got to photograph yesterday! Mr L was exactly one week old at his customized newborn portrait session at his family home in Creve Coeur. Luckily the weather was beautiful and we were able to get outside for some sweet images. Perfect for a baby to sleep with the fresh air and sounds of nature. Baby L is so calm and laid back. I think that when people say “sleep like a baby”, they are referring to how this lil’ one is. He is such a sound sleeper and really doesn’t fuss. Lucky parents. Now if only he can get his days and nights straight. I’m sure his parents would love him to sleep so soundly at night! Enjoy the sneak peek. We got some beautiful images.

This family’s customized portrait session in St. Charles was a long time in the waiting. It was great to finally meet everyone and capture these images for them. The baby of the family is quite on the move already at seven months and his two big sisters have a lot of energy of their own. Talk about a lot of fun these three will have growing up. They are so loving towards each other and seem like the best of friends already. Quite a blessing. Enjoy the music video.

I had always wanted to do a portrait session of  a little girl that was reminiscent of a forest fairy, so when my client described what her daughter was going to wear for her customized portrait session, I was beyond excited! I instantly knew where the PERFECT location would be for this type of session as I had come across this area while hiking with my daughter and envisioned these type of images! Her mom had this beautiful outfit made from a store on Etsy and then she made the headpieces herself. So pretty. It was a hot evening, so the cool water came as a welcoming treat in both it’s soothing and beauty properties. Meet the newest addition to the Niemann family! My daughter Lily had been begging for a puppy for almost a year and she finally got her wish. She was very specific in that she wanted a female chocolate lab that she would name Rosebud. It was a long search, but we finally found the perfect puppy and got to bring her home three weeks ago. Once Lily saw her, she decided that the name Rose was more fitting and so now we have two flowers in the family! On one of our morning walks yesterday, I came across this beautiful field and thought it would be perfect for some portraits, so last night we headed back to capture Lily and her puppy Rose. I couldn’t be happier with the results and am so happy that I have this portrait of the two of them at this stage of both of their lives. Lily just graduated kindergarten and Rose is almost three months! Such milestones for both of them. I will be enlarging this as big as I can go and will cherish it for the rest of my life.
