Tonight I had the privilege to capture this beautiful mommy in the glow of pregnancy! Kristen and her family hold a special place in my heart as I photographed their first son Xavier during his first year of life through several session documenting his milestones. I then got to photograph them again for their Fall Portraits last year. It’s just amazing to see how fast lil’ ones grow and it’s such an honor to be a part of that through the lens of my camera. I was overjoyed when Kristen contacted me letting me know she was expecting. I was looking forward to this session for quite some time and when I saw this location, I just knew it would be perfect for her maternity portraits. I can’t wait to meet their latest addition in a couple of months. Until then…enjoy the sneak peek.

Two days after Stephanie’s maternity photography session, she gave birth to a beautiful girl! This beautiful mommy was so anxious and excited to meet her lil’ one and obviously the feelings were mutual, since her daughter came almost an entire month early. Thankfully everyone is healthy and enjoying their new roles in the world! I just love taking maternity portraits outdoors as I feel mother nature is a perfect way to showcase the beauty of this time in a woman’s life. We are so fortunate to have so many choices in St. Louis for locations, and looking at these images are a great reminder of just that!

This maternity photography session in St. Louis City was so much fun. I was so inspired by the architecture by our urban setting and found beautiful light as well as backgrounds everywhere! I love the variety we could get in such a short walking distance and I could have honestly kept shooting for hours there. Just so many neat little areas that would be perfect for portraits. Courtney was so great to work with and even brought her dear husband along who helped her cross ice, assisted in wardrobe changes and watched his beautiful wife with such love. Congrats to the new parents!

What a difference a day can make! Anyone who knows St. Louis understands that the weather can change in an instant and that has certainly been the case lately. Less than a week ago it was almost 80 degrees and then Saturday we had about five inches of snow. The very next day, all the snow was gone and unfortunately so were the pretty pink flowers on some of the local trees. So sad as I was wanting to incorporate those Spring trees in this couple’s maternity session yesterday. No worries though…we found Spring around us in other ways. These weeping willows were fresh and green for us! We even found an area with a rows of white flowered trees! Sure it was quite chilly, but that didn’t seem to phase this mom-to-be in the slightest. She even changed into tank tops and bared her belly for some shots! Her husband was such the gentleman by warming her up with his coat and my blanket. After all, as he pointed out, there’s precious cargo there! I agree! These two couldn’t be more loving and sweet towards each other. You’d think they were still honeymooners instead of being together since college undergrad. Their baby is going to be one lucky girl for sure. Congrats and I can’t wait to meet the lil’ one! This morning’s maternity portrait session was so much fun with the beautiful architecture in St. Louis used as a backdrop. This pretty pregnant mama is expecting her second boy and big brother has decided to name the new baby Yoda. Mom and dad aren’t too keen on the name, but I’m thinking that the name will stick some how since big brother is such a big Star Wars fan. I’m so excited to capture lil’ “Yoda” in April! Spring is around the corner and even though nothing is in bloom quite yet, I’ve been finding little patches of heaven provided by mother nature. Tonight’s maternity photography session is a perfect example of how beautiful things can be at this time of year. This mom-to-be was so much fun to capture during this special time in her life and I know she’s all set for her lil’ one to arrive. She’s already had her baby showers and when she arrived at her session, she was just coming from Toys R Us with more supplies!
