I love capturing the beauty of pregnancy! It’s such a special and beautiful time that is full of wonderment and miracles. Spring brings new life to mother nature as trees and flowers bloom, grass grows, birds chirp and animals wake from their winter hibernation and scurry about! I think that’s why this time of year makes it even more magical for expecting moms. Last night’s maternity portrait session took place at a local park in St. Louis. Family arrived perfectly coordinated and were so much fun to work with. Such a sweet family. I was so impressed with how good their lil’ girl was throughout the session. I think it has something to do with how calm and patient the parents are. I picked this image for their sneak peek as I love how the tree limbs seem to be embracing this expecting mom. Ahhhh! Spring is finally here! After the big snow we had here in St. Louis a couple of weeks ago, I was a bit worried that we wouldn’t have pretty blossoming landscape like this mom-to-be wanted for her maternity portraits. During my location scout earlier in the week, I came across this field of daffodils and knew that we would have to use this beautiful backdrop for her portrait session! This couple’s love for each other is so apparent and sweet to witness. Pregnancy is such an exciting time and I’m sure they are cherishing these moments leading up to meeting their son next month. Congratulations you two! I can’t wait to capture your baby boy!

This is the second pregnancy I have captured for this beautiful family. It’s so much fun watching families grow and it’s an honor to document these special moments. We were hoping to get outside for this family’s maternity portrait session, but the temperature dropped lower than what the kiddos would have tolerated, so we ended up indoors at their new home. It turned out to be the perfect setting and allowed for some stunning images. Congrats on your growing family!

I love capturing the miracle of pregnancy. It’s such a magical and special time. The love between mother and unborn child is so apparent and wonderful to witness. This mom was no exception. Watching mom and dad together was so sweet. He was so thoughtful and loving towards his wife and the baby in her belly. He chose not to be in any portraits during this particular session, but he was involved with compliments and making sure everyone was comfortable. Their love is so strong and I know their son, who was born around Christmas time last year, has completed them even more.

The weather almost delayed this session, but thankfully the rain stopped just in time last night. Thank goodness, as we were able to get some beautiful portraits documenting the pregnancy for this lovely growing family! When I was scrolling through images from this session last night, I stopped at this one as it really speaks to me. I love how the light is surrounding her and how she seems to be taking in this moment before her baby arrives. It’s as though I can feel her breathing calmly as mother nature hugs her with comfort and warmth. There’s a serenity to this portrait that really speaks to me and this moment in a soon-to-be mom’s life. Enjoy! I hope we all can remember to take the time to just BREATHE!
