I can’t believe almost an entire year has gone by since I captured this family last. Their lil’ girl just celebrated her birthday last month and her brother is turning one! What a busy time of year for this family! We lucked out with the weather yesterday morning and even though the grass was quite wet from all the rain we’ve had recently in St. Louis, we were able to produce some beautiful family portraits! Spring is here in full bloom in St. Louis right now, which makes for some beautiful portraits. I happened upon this tunnel of trees about a week ago and after discussing options, we decided to hold this family’s portrait session at this location. Mom is a good friend of mine as well as a talented photographer. Our love of photography is what brought us together, but we quickly found that we had much more in common. It was an honor to capture this beautiful family last night. Both parents are good friends of mine as I used to work with the dad back in my video days. After all the countless hours editing and shooting together we remained comrades. His wife is a talented producer herself and beautiful inside and out. I remember their son coming into work rattling off lines from the three stooges as a little boy. I can’t believe he is now graduating high school. Oh, how time flies! Simply put – I adore this family! So, of course when they asked me to capture their family before N took off for college, I said yes! They found this location at a local park and let me know that it was perfect for their portrait needs! I agree. So pretty and lots of variety. I think it’s so special to capture all the various family aspects of a family, so I was excited to capture this group of gals! Two generations of sisters! I know that the two little ones will use their mom and aunt as role models as they grow up together. We chose this location in St. Louis due to the history and architecture of the homes. As the sun started to set, we were also able to go into a local park for some beautiful portraits surrounded by nature. It really was the best of both worlds and so fitting for these ladies. I adore this family! I’ve been capturing them since their first boy was born, so they hold a special place in my heart. They have so much fun with each other and their energy and love really shows. I love how their outfits coordinate well together. The colors really pop with the colors of early Spring. During their portrait session, the littlest man got sleepy and it worked out nicely as we got some really sweet cuddle and nap time images of him. I just love sleeping babies. So pure and peaceful! He was awoken by his big brother and then it was back to play. Tis the life of a family! Enjoy.

St. Louis Family Portraits | Yellow Wild Flowers

I’m looking forward to Spring just around the corner and so, I thought I’d share a family portrait session from last April to warm our souls on a windy and snowy day that we have today in St. Louis. I just adored this customized portrait session from last year. We finally had some nice weather and pretty colors. I happened upon this field and knew that this would be the PERFECT location for this family’s portraits. It’s so dreamy with the yellow wildflowers, soft grass and the sun cascading it’s warmth over the hills in the background as it rose up that morning. It was a very windy day, which made the balloon set-up a bit of a challenge, but it all worked out fine. I hope these images bring some brightness to your day and helps you look forward to the beautiful season ahead of us!
