This lil’ princess is such a great sleeper and fusses only when she REALLY needs something. Daddy seems to have the magic touch with his daughter, which I think is just so sweet. I really think she’s so laid back because her parents are so calm and patient with her. I know babies can sense the moods of others and when us adults are calm, it makes them the same way. I had to smile when I saw the book “Secrets of the Baby Whisperer” by Tracy Hogg on their side table as it brought back all kinds of great memories of my lil’ girl when she was born. I read that book over and over and it helped me so much understand my baby, get her on a schedule and learn what I could do for different situations. Worth every penny for me! I think one of the best baby whisperers though is a grandmother – especially one with nine grand babies! In fact, moments after I arrived to capture Emily’s newborn portraits, her grandmother came in for a visit from quite a distance. Adorable Lucien was six days old when I captured his newborn portraits in his home and he couldn’t have been more lovely. It’s such an honor to be welcomed into families’ homes during such a special and intimate time in their lives and it’s something I don’t take lightly. It was a rainy and cold Autumn day, so we weren’t able to get outdoors, but we got such great variety and I was able to bring a little bit of the season indoors, so it was perfectly fine. I love all of his hair and those pouty lips. So precious!

This lil’ sweetie joined her family a month ago and is already accustomed to this crazy world. She’s SO content and laid back, which I believe she gets from her parents. Her three sisters adore her and are really a big help to mommy. Can you imagine your children fighting over who gets to change a diaper?! AMAZING! Danielle slept peacefully and gave me lots of special treats that are only cute coming from an adorable infant! Getting messed on is just one of those job hazards and something I totally don’t mind. So worth getting those prized portraits! We totally lucked out with weather today as we got to get outside for a few images at the very end of Danielle’s newborn portrait session at her house! Crazy to be able to do that at the beginning of February, but I’m not complaining one bit as I love getting portraits of lil’ ones surrounded by mother nature and it always results in beautiful images.
