Ballwin Family Portrait Photographer | Fall Family

October 30, 2011

I just adore this family and it’s been great to capture them through the years. Last year, there were three in this family and this year there’s four! The lil’ man had a difficult morning, but we still got some adorable images of him with his family. We started the session up on a hill so that we could capture some of the beautiful fall foliage on the hills across the way, but it started to get a bit too windy, which also made it chilly, so we finished the session at the bottom of the hill in the woods where it was much warmer and hardly even a breeze to speak of. Amazing what a simple change like that can do to one’s spirit. Mom and I spoke on the phone regarding the session and I mentioned that since they were wearing red, I had a little radio flyer tricycle and a red airplane I could bring and she mentioned that she was thinking of bringing a radio flyer wagon. Great minds think alike! All the red worked out beautifully against the Autumn colors. Enjoy the sneak peek!

St. Louis Child Photographer | Fine Art

October 29, 2011

This evening I had a portrait session that left me so inspired! I just love creating art and it’s energizing when all the scenes that I had envisioned in my head come out even better once captured by my camera. So many things were just perfectly aligned tonight – cute girl, gorgeous wardrobe, beautiful weather, lovely late afternoon light and great location. I scouted out this location yesterday and came across three areas that really caught my eye and I started planning this gorgeous family’s session in my head right away. The first image below was an area that I drive by all the time, but for some reason never really noticed until yesterday. When I saw it, I stopped my car, jumped out and looked at it from all angles. I was so excited about my find! Well, I have to tell you…I was even more excited once I snapped this portrait below. I just knew it was perfection. Thankfully Bella’s dad held the flash for me so that we could illuminate this lil’ beauty under the tree. A light stand would have tumbled into the water, so an assistant was dearly needed. Thank you so much. As you can tell, it was well worth it. Great job dad!

St. Louis Children’s Photographer | The Great Outdoors!

October 28, 2011

Autumn is my absolute favorite time of year and I just love the way these images reflect the beauty of the season. These lil’ ones were so much fun to photograph and I am so thankful that their dad made a makeshift tent out in the woods. Isn’t it the cutest? So much fun for a child to play and hang out on lazy days.

St. Louis Child Photographer | Serene Autumn

October 25, 2011

Editing some images and had to stop to share this one. I just adore this portrait. I saw the light hitting this fallen tree while setting up for another shot and could picture this exact capture. So, I stopped what I was doing, brought this cutie over to the area and grabbed this frame with my camera. Pure heaven to my eyes. Autumn is my favorite time of year and THIS is why. Look at those colors and that light. Mother nature at it’s finest. I actually dreamt about this location last night. More ideas brewing in my head…

Kirkwood Child Photographer | Up, Up & Away!

October 24, 2011

I have a lot of photography ideas in my head – things that I would like to shoot and capture for myself and others. Well, I’ve decided to make those dreams come true, and so this weekend I did a shoot with this adorable model for my UP inspired shoot. I had this vision in my head ever since I saw the movie UP, so it’s about time it got captured with my camera. I think the purple just works so well against all the Autumn colors and I LOVE the looks on this lil’ beauty’s face. Isn’t she just the cutest? The location is a dream! So many options in this area and I’m so thankful for the R family for allowing me to not only use their children as models, but for letting me photograph on their property as well. Such a wonderful family that I feel blessed to have entered my life. Turns out that this image has sentimental meanings for this family as well, as mom and dad got engaged on a hot air balloon at sunrise in Colorado. Victoria’s mom said she got chills seeing her daughter in this image, as it brought back those memories. I just love it when images that I create can stir such emotions. Enjoy!

Clayton Baby Photographer | Six Months

October 23, 2011

This lil’ lady has such beautiful blue eyes! I bet it’ll be hard for mommy and daddy to say no when she looks at them with those baby blues. Her mom and dad moved into their dream home right after Paisley was born and they have been enjoying their new journey ever since. You can tell how much her parents admire their daughter and I know the feelings are mutual. When I arrived at Paisley’s photo session, her dad showed me around their place and pointed out that he thought this one area would be neat, but said that it hadn’t been landscaped and wondered if we should pull the weeds. My answer – “No, it adds color and texture. Leave them!” Well, I’m glad that we chose this lil’ area for some of her portraits. (you’ll see this lil’ piece of heaven in the second image below) Enjoy the sneak peek!

St. Louis Family Portrait Photographer | Beautiful Day at the Park!

October 19, 2011

This summer, I had a fun photography session with a family at a local park. Their lil’ beauty wasn’t sitting up on her own yet, but that was just fine as we got so many fun interaction family portraits as a result. You can just feel the love through these images. On a cold and rainy October day, these portraits just warm my soul.

Ballwin Child Photographer | Fall Family Music Video

October 10, 2011

Last week, I was on the hunt for the perfect location for this family’s portrait session. Not many trees had changed in color, but I came across this field where there were some Autumn colors, was secluded enough for plenty of play without onlookers, and was close to this family’s home, which is always a bonus with lil’ ones. We got some beautiful images of this beautiful family having a tea party and just enjoying their time together! Enjoy the music video.

Frontenac Infant Photographer | Cecilia's Music Video

October 10, 2011

Lil’ Miss Cecilia and her family were so much fun to photograph. The weather was great, so we were able to get outdoors for some portraits, which I just adore. We even got some shots of the cousins. SO cute! I love it when I can incorporate some family heirlooms in my subject’s images, which we got to do quite a bit for this lil’ four week old infant girl. Enjoy the music video!
