Month: June, 2011
A few months back, Stacia, of Stacia Shaw Photography, contacted me and said that she’d be in St. Louis for a week in June and was wondering if we could switch sessions. Of course I jumped at the chance! As a photographer, I don’t get to be in front of the camera too often and I really want family portraits where I’m not setting up a tripod and using a remote control to capture those cherished moments. Plus, it’s great experience for me to know how all of my clients feel when in front of the camera. Stacia’s family portraits took place tonight and it was such an honor to create portraits for them. The Shaw family couldn’t be more fun and loving towards each other. I have so many favorites from their family portrait session. For now, I’ll just share this one, but I promise – there will be many more coming! Thank you Stacia for allowing me to capture your family. I hope my family does as good for your camera as the four (five) of you did for me.
I first met newborn Luca when he was still in his mommy’s belly during their maternity portrait session and so it was a joy to see him during his newborn photography session. His big brother was a bit unsure of this lil’ addition to the family, but I understand that they have since become good buddies. Congrats T family! You have two beautiful boys!
Bella’s portrait session was so much fun for me. She’s such a girly girl, which I love, and then there were the outfits! Her mom really did a great job with the wardrobe selection for the whole family. Bella’s dad had to drive home for his shirt and he returned just in time for some adorable father/daughter shots and the fabulous tea party. Enjoy the music video!
Grace’s six month customized baby photography session was so much fun! You can tell that this family really enjoys their time together and that they have a lot of fun. Lots of smiles and laughter with this family! Enjoy the music video.
We lucked out with the weather for this family’s portraits last night. It was a cooler evening and even though it was supposed to rain, it held off until I was driving home after the session. Talk about luck! This adorable six month old gal is so lucky to have her parents to show her how fun life can be. She was full of smiles from the moment I met her and she did a great job in front of the camera! Enjoy the sneak peek!
There have been a lot of firsts for us in the Niemann household lately with Lily. Tooth fairy visits, swimming lessons and the one that I’ve been looking forward to for quite some time – the first haircut! Lily is almost five years old and her hair is FINALLY long enough for a trim. Lily loves reading Fancy Nancy books and after reading “Ooh La La! It’s Beauty Day” and doing many beauty treatments at home, she finally agreed to go with mommy and daddy to the salon. At first, she was a bit unsure of it all, so she had daddy get his hair cut first. She then had me get my hair done and after that, she was still a bit scared, but she agreed to let Barbara cut her hair if she sat on daddy’s lap and got to wear a fancy cape. As Barb worked her magic, Lily smiled and gave me the thumbs up sign. When she was beautified, she looked in the mirror, touched her hair before shaking her head to swing her curls, and then she said, “Ooh La La!” As we left, she smiled big, waved to Barb and in her delicate voice said, “Merci!” She checked herself out in the mirror all night and she’s still talking about how she can’t wait to get her hair done again at the beauty salon! I’m just thankful that it was a good experience and that I get this lil’ lock of hair for a keepsake. Means the world to me!
I had a dream family portrait session this morning with an adorable family in Clayton! Bella’s mom had been planning out her session for a few months now and she had a container full of props, which complemented the props that I had brought perfectly. She also had plenty of pretty outfits for her daughter to wear and of course, parents were perfectly coordinated to Bella. Great job mom! The outfit the lil’ princess is wearing is from London. Isn’t it just perfect for a tea party? Enjoy the sneak peek.
Jakob’s customized child photography session was so much fun. He got to show me around his favorite park and I got to play with him while capturing some adorable portraits of him as a two year old! I even made the landscaping man laugh as I took a spin on the little red bike. Yes, it may have been WAY too small for me, but it was still fun. It was my way of showing Jakob how cool it was so he’d want to let go of the red wagon and take the bike for a ride. Hey, a girl’s gotta do what she’s gotta do! Enjoy the music video!
