Look Who Got Her First Hair Cut! | St. Louis Children’s Photographer

December 16, 2009

Yep! My lil’ Lily got her first hair cut last night. I came home from a girl’s gathering with friends and when I came home, my daughter’s hair had been trimmed up by my loving husband. We had big plans to go to a salon for the big event, but Lily wanted nothing to do with it. I have to admit, I’m a bit sad that I missed the first hair cut, but my husband and daughter were so proud and happy to surprise me, so it’s not so bad. I’m actually happy that my husband had this moment with our daughter as I know he’s missed a lot of firsts. Makes me fall in love with him even further picturing him with scissors trimming Lily’s hair with precision and care. What a great moment they had and hey…at least he saved the hair for me. Tear.

{See how happy she is with her new do?! I love how it curls up more now.}

Help Someone in Need this Holiday Season!

December 16, 2009

At the beginning of the month I wrote about a charity that I’m involved in called “Giving is Awesome” and I’m writing again asking for your help.

We all know someone who’s struggling and deserves some beautiful portraits that they’ll cherish for years to come. Well, here’s your chance to give them an amazing gift this year with complimentary custom photography valued at $1,000. Whether it’s canvas or albums, prints for Grandma, or a music video to watch over and over, it’s in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season. If the person you nominate wins, you’ll receive $250 print credit to use with Yvonne Niemann Photography as well!

All you have to do is email me at info@yvonneniemannphotography.com and tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

I’ll announce the winner on Christmas Eve,  so that’s only one week left to get your stories to me. So far I haven’t received any nominations, so please share their story with me. I’d hate for this prize go to waste when so many are in need.

December 8, 2009

My good friend is the author of Modern*Simplicity blog and she recently asked me if she could ask me a few questions for her readers. Of course I was thrilled to be a featured guest and therefore partook in the Q&A where I shared some insight on being a working mom as well as a few photography tips. Read full interview here.

Mr. C’s Image Box | Florissant Baby Photographer

December 1, 2009

I just adore these image boxes! It’s such a great way to showcase your favorite images on an easel and store the rest of your portraits from your session in the box. This one is about to be delivered to Mr. C’s family and I just had to capture a few images for you before it left my office. If you’d like your own customized image box, contact me at info@yvonneniemannphotography.com

You can see my personal box here. It sits on my fireplace mantel at home where I switch out the bevel mounted 5×7 portraits on the easel when I need a change of pace. I also add to the box as I capture my favorite images of my daughter throughout the year.

Giving is Awesome! | St. Louis Professional Photographer

December 1, 2009

I’m proud to join photographers from all over the globe in the photographic effort, Giving is Awesome. We’re just a bunch of photographers giving back to our communities just for the sake of giving. No strings attached. I feel so blessed in my life and I don’t take for granted what I have. I know that others are struggling and I just want to provide deserving individuals and families with cherished heirlooms.  So…here’s where I need your help.

You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography — $1,000 worth, to be exact. Whether it’s canvas or albums, prints for Grandma, or a music video to watch over and over, it’s in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $250 print credit. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be?

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

* The nominee must reside in the St. Louis, MO area. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

* You must e-mail me the full story : info@yvonneniemannphotography.com

The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve — get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries! Open your heart to someone this holiday season — and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

With love,

Yvonne
